You are entitled to your opinion, but so am I, and I'm not changing my mind either.
It's interesting that out of this whole essay, you picked this small part to comment on. I have no desire to argue, but I will not be silenced either.
Lockdowns were the single worst thing ever for the elderly, people with mental health problems, and those with addictions. People died because of that too.
People also died because they were terrified to go to a doctor or hospital, so they stayed at home and died from heart attacks. They died from undiagnosed cancer that wasn’t found until it was too late. They died from untreated UTIs that triggered underlying dementia.
People lost their jobs and their businesses. Most never came back. The economy never recovered. People die when they can’t afford food and housing, too. There is literally a tent community of homeless in my city.
Maybe it was different where you live. Here in the US, it was chaos. There was a lockdown, but we had BLM protests at the same time. Funny how it was free speech to protest, but not to see your own family members and ensure they weren’t being abused. I guess Covid ignored the crowds of protesters.
Lockdowns were the single most stupid and mismanaged thing this country has ever done.
