If I have my camera with me, I can lose myself for hours

The heat here in North Carolina has been oppressive, but I found an outdoor reprieve today at the Greensboro Bog Garden.

The lush greenery creates a cool canvas over the boardwalk.

The sound of the waterfall lulls you into a meditative state as you relax and enjoy this small natural paradise.

If you are lucky, you may glimpse the resident owls or blue heron. You will certainly see squirrels, chipmunks, ducks, and a variety of birds.

The Bog Garden is my nature sanctuary and favorite spot for photography.

I got the above shot of a fast moving Blue Heron a few years ago. I try to keep my camera with me when I visit because I never know what I may find.

A Blue Heron was there today, watching a turtle inch his way out of the creek and onto the bank. He sat quietly on the shore of the creek looking hot, ruffled, and too tired to move.

The world is simpler when I’m in nature. All the noise is silenced. I can find my peace again. Many introverts have this special connection with nature.
