We Have a Kindness Shortage

Simple respect shouldn’t be this difficult

The older I get, the more I don’t understand people.

It’s ironic, isn’t it? At a time when so many scream for tolerance and equality, kindness is at its lowest.

Tolerance IF we agree. You tolerate my beliefs, I’ll laugh at yours. That’s what we’re really saying, isn’t it?

I struggle mightily with my faith, but I am an unapologetic Christian, and I don’t care who knows it. I never push my beliefs on anyone, but I do ask that they be respected. Fair enough?

I don’t pretend to have all the answers. In fact, I have more questions than answers. Lots of them.

I understand there are Christians out there who have hurt you. Please don’t lump me in with them.

I try my best to respect ALL people, regardless of their faith, spirituality, race, or sexual orientation. Why? Because it’s what Jesus did, and what He tells me to do.

And guess what? I’m not perfect at it, but I try. Lord knows, I have made plenty of mistakes that I wish I could take back.

But I care. REALLY care. I know that sounds weird, but I do care about ALL people, and about equality.
